Samukawa Hospital was originally opened as a surgery clinic in 1969 as a part of social activities offered by Samukawa-jinja Shrine. In 1982 it was established as a major hospital, aiming at the health management of the community and local residents. In 2004, it was relocated and newly constructed in order to improve the medical facilities and better respond to the health care needs and privacy of the local residents. This was achieved by making all the patient rooms into private ones for greater privacy and by introducing an electronic medical record system for improving operating effectiveness.
